Refunds and Returns Policy

We want you to be happy with your battery. This policy explains your rights and ours. It is in line with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA).

7-day cancellation (cooling-off) right

You may cancel an online order without giving a reason within 7 days of receiving the goods, as long as:

  • the battery is unused, in its original condition and original packaging, and has not been installed or charged;
  • you contact us in writing at [email] within the 7 days; and
  • you arrange to return it to us.

You carry the cost of returning the battery, unless the return is because of our mistake. Once we receive and inspect the battery, we will refund you within [30] days to the original payment method.

Wrong battery or fitment

Please check the battery code, size and terminal position (left or right) against your old battery or your vehicle manual before you order. If you ordered the wrong battery, the 7-day cancellation right above applies, provided the battery has not been installed. If our battery finder or our team told you a battery fits and it does not, contact us and we will put it right.

Faulty batteries and warranty

Our batteries carry a [12-month] warranty against manufacturing defects, from the date of purchase. If you believe your battery is faulty:

  1. Contact us at sales@nexel.co.za with your order number and a description of the problem.
  2. We may ask for photos and a battery test result from a reputable battery or tyre centre.
  3. If the battery is found to be faulty, we will repair, replace or refund it, in line with the CPA.

What the warranty does not cover

Damage caused by incorrect fitting, short circuits, deep discharge, a faulty alternator or charging system, physical damage, leaving the battery uncharged for long periods, or use in a vehicle it was not designed for.

Damaged on delivery

Tell us within [48 hours] of receiving the parcel, with photos, and we will arrange a replacement or refund.

How to return a battery

Do not send anything back before you have contacted us. We will give you a return reference and instructions. Batteries contain acid and must be packed and transported carefully.
